ACTS OF KINDNESS HAVE NO PIT STOPS!
by Ho Cheng Leong -12 February 2023
On mid-Jan the group was in Pulau Carey getting a foot into the Orang Asli community esp for youth development
One week later, the scene has shifted to Cameron Highlands, running 2 weeks of Youth and Children development programmes for the Orang Asli people's group…The ability to organize and mobilize volunteers is a sign of great leadership and influencer!
The next few days the action shifted down south….
271 km away (Kluang, Johor) from Petaling Jaya, the continuous rain has caused concerns to many families of possible flood situation which required evacuation.
A call from our Sr Project Coordinator has triggered the "action plan". She had worked out the specific families' needs in her area of affected flood victims.
Within an hour, some funds had been raised through phones call to sympathetic supporters and sponsors (Thank you, Thank you…you know who you are) of our NGO, I was called to approve the transfer of funds electronically, and the team has mobilized themselves to buy and get the rations needed.
And the next day our team was seen distributing food parcels to some unfortunate families affected by the heavy rainfall and flash floods. Good job, Deffy.
Lesson well learnt….a timely response to emergency is paramount….stop the talk, talk, talk…get into action! Compassi-on @ Work
And yesterday, they were up in KL with a group of us for a fund-raising exercise presentation!
Acts of kindness have no "pit stops"!
